I have 4 teams trying to use App Inventor. I have got to say that it is not good for the faint at heart to get started. I have followed so many tutorials with very sketchy results.

I'm sorry you are having trouble. If you have a specific question, please post it in this forum (in a new thread). I check this forum almost every day. If you are having trouble finding which blocks to use for a specific task, I can often help with that. Good luck! You can do it!

We are Iowa South East Junior High rookie Teams #11268, 11271, 11478, 11480, and 11481. We were 30 students and a group of committed professionals. As of our first league meet yesterday, all five of our robots moved as designed, programmed by students with App Inventor. With a curriculum and professional development from STEMdeck, we aim to engage 90 students per year and to integrate FTC and an Intel-style STEM fair into in-school math, science, and computer science curricular strands. Forty percent of our students are 40% African-American or Hispanic and Latino/a. We look forward to learning with you all!

            We NEED some Help!!!
I have been having trouble with Android Studio so we are trying App Inventor. We do not have the option for FIRST Tech Challenge under the Palette tab, how do we get that?

              Simple problem I was having.
We were trying Chrome in the emulator not on the PC.

                  Hi Mecannella,

The App Inventor for the FIRST Tech Challenge is a special version that runs locally on your computer. It is not available on the regular MIT App Inventor 2 website. You can find details about the FTC version of the App Inventor here:

Official source of FIRST Robotics Competition Event Results and Data

Also, there are some online tutorials that you can find on YouTube:

If you have any problems with the App Inventor (installation or use) please feel free to post new threads on this sub forum. Good luck and let us know if you are able to get the app inventor software working properly.

                  Tom
