  • New router can't connect Samantha

    Hi,

Our team was given a TP-Link router. Our goal was to be able to set up a network when we travel to locations without wifi. We can connect our laptop. On Samantha, we get a solid red, a flashing white and a heartbeat blue. Samantha Field Control system sees our robot at 192.168.0.101, we are allowed to choose it, but it won't connect.

We've tried using the Samantha Competition Network Config and the Samantha Network Config, but the results are the same.

We have an opportunity to work with a local professor, but have to have this up and running to make our meeting useful - so by Monday 10am.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    S and L Robotics team 5033

Have you tried pressing the red button on top ot the Samantha? What does samostat say? (If the white light is flashing, the network is recognized.)

We have tried pushing the red samantha button. No change.

Samostat says acquiring and then the screen goes blank and stays that way until we stop the program.

      Thanks for any help,
      Annette

Sounds like you don't have the right key on the samantha? Skip the wizard and try the manual instructions (router settings, create a thumbdrive, load onto Samantha...) there's a link on the main ftc resources page I believe.

Is there the word "USB" in the corner of the nxt screen? Or does it show a wrench.

Also, while this is happening, what are the lights on samantha doing?

Finally, what type of wifi network are you using (802.11_ (n/b/g/a))?

I know I'm a little late to this conversation but I have to ask:

            The model of the router?
Firmware on it up to date?
Is Windows Firewall blocking actively or any other firewalls?

If you got it to work I'd be curious to know what it took.
