  • FCS Problem

When we connect our NXT to FCS and run Teleop mode we lose all control over the right wheel. It runs at full speed and does not stop. When programming in RobotC and Labview it works fine. I select the proper file in the Program Choose but as soon as we try it on our FCS it doesn't work. However, when we went to competitions last year it worked fine. Why won't it work on our network.

Just as an FYI, we got a new computer and router from our grant and the router came preconfigured from FTC so we appreciate as much help as possible. Thanks!

We set ours partially up for the first time on Wednesday and had the same problem. I pulled up the robotC interface on the same computer to check a couple of items, and one of the gamepads was being incorrectly used by the FCS. Instead of reading the left joystick, it was reading the left touchpad. The right joystick was fine. I swapped out controllers and it worked. It was very strange, but you might try that if you are using different controllers for programming and FCS.

Try hitting the mode button on the controller. I think that does something funny like swapping the Dpad on the left with the right stick...

Also, make sure that if your controller has a switch on the back, it is set to "D" not "X". X puts it into X-box mode, which causes all kinds of problems.

Also, is there an e-mail I can use to contact you (FTC Ringer). I looked at your website and I have some questions to help with ours.

            Thanks!

I just turned private messaging on (I didn't even realize I had it off. ), so if you want to send me a PM about something, I'd be happy to help. When it comes to the website, though, all of the formatting and features you see are thanks to the Weebly website editor. They're free to use at the basic level, they offer a large variety of themes to choose form, and they have a pretty intuitive drag-and-drop interface for creating the actual pages.
