Moto G4 devices

Hi,

We are using Moto G 3rd get devices, but are considering upgrading to more modern devices. Is there a particular reason for restricting teams to devices that are 3-4 years old? Many of those devices cannot be updated to the current version of Android.

In the thread discussing the REV Expansion hub, there's mention of using the REV Control Hub instead of an Android phone next season. If that's official, the implication is that replacing working phones this year might not be a great investment if they will not be used at all next year.

The REV Control Hub replaces the Robot Controller android phone only. You will still need an android phone for the Driver Station.

Thanks for the clarification on the REV Control Hub. I haven't seen the Legal-Illegal parts/devices list posted yet so I'll hold off on getting newer phones until it's posted.

The list of legal and excluded parts/devices is in Game Manual 1, which is posted. In a quick review, I did not see any new phone models listed - I don't believe the list of phones has changed.

Yeah, that's what I was looking at although there was a separate document posted last year in the resources. :-)
