Can't post in the Game Q & A, how can we do that?

  • Can't post in the Game Q & A, how can we do that?

    When I go to the Game Q & A forum, there is no "create new topic" or "post thread" etc. How can we create posts to ask questions in that forum?

    I am coach of team 6041, thanks.

    Thanks. I logged in with the other account that was assigned to me, and still not seeing a way to post questions in the sub-forums. I am the main sponsor and head coach of my team, so all the information for our team is sent to me. Not sure if there was some other account I missed. Is that account information listed in the FIRSTinspires system? It would help if that info was kept on file in our account info, just saying. Thanks for the help.

      I seem to recall they have to manually approve accounts to post to avoid spam robots. I don't know if that applies to the official team accounts but you definitely won't be able to post in the Q&A forums from any account other than the team account.

      You might send a direct message to JoAnn and see if she can help.

        I had the forum send you a link to reset the password on FTC6041. Drop me a note if you still can't get in after you reset it. jhalloran(at)firstinspires(dot)org.

          Our teams have the same issue.

          It looks like at least three teams have reported this issue; so, it seems the present "solution" is not working.
          The ability to get/reset the forum password should be put back on the Team Dashboard.

            I can not ask a question in the Q&A forums either. I created and logged on under 3 different account names using 3 different browsers. I see that might be part of the problem from comments above. I've tried direct messaging for help and only got generic log-in information back. If the team ever received an official user name and password I don't have it. How do I recover that information?

              Hi Tommie,

              You need to use the account that FIRST assigned to your team. The user id is FTC7802, and I sent a link to your email that you can follow to change your password. I hope that helps!

                We do manually approve the accounts, but only the ones that are created externally, so the FTCXXXX accounts that we create for teams don't have to be manually approved after they are created, but, you may not know that our forums were hacked last spring, and our IT team reset all the passwords. If it's the first time a team is trying to access the forums since last March or so, they'll need to reset their password first. If a reset of the password doesn't work, I strongly encourage teams to send me a direct email at jhalloran(at)firstinspires(dot)org, or to send an email to ftcteams(at)firstinspires(dot)org, and we'll help.
