  • PDM - Failure

We had our first league meet last night with 14 teams. Three teams lost there PDM at the meet. Another team in the league lost their PDM last week.

Failure appeared to occur with power-on. 2 of the 3 lights on the PDM work after this happens, which indicated a problem.

Do you happen to know what happened internally to them? Blown regulators? Other damage?

I'm curious about how the system worked as far as finding all of the motor controllers - were any teams forced to forfeit a match because they couldn't get connected to all of the usb devices?

We keep blowing the fuse on our PDM and are not sure why. The fuse blows about 10s after powering on, not even running the robot. Two motor controllers, 4 Nevrest motors and nothing else. Going to get some more fuses tonight and try again.

Internal damage. Chip Labeled U1, pin 7 (Power) was burned. Didn't notice any other damage.

That is a fairly common complaint. If it is damaged like that it certainly must have dumped a lot of current somewhere.
