Acceptable Treads

[FTC6085]

First time posting, so I apologize if this is in the incorrect forum. We would like to use the following tread and would like to know if it is acceptable:

Blue Nitrile Roughtop Tread, 1" Wide, Thickness 0.28, Coefficient of Friction on tight pile: 1.19, Tread material: Carbox Nitrile Rubber, Tread Pattern: Roughtop.

As gof said - you need to go Robot Inspection and Build Rules area to get an official reply.
That being said - there is the floor tile test - put the robot against the wall (immovable object) and run it at full power for 15 seconds. If it doesn't damage the tile you are good to go.

I have seen some VERY aggressive wheels last year that passed this test because the motors would stall out in such a scenario and therefore didn't damage the floor. I have also see some aggressive treads pass because the robot was light enough that it just kind of bounced on top of the tiles and again didn't damage the floor.

So - it really depends not only the wheel surface but the weight of the robot and the motors driving it, etc.

If you do use such a tread be prepared at robot inspection to be questioned and have to do the test.
