Humble suggestion for drive station....

It would be really nice if the students could set the rumble on the gamepad from their code. This would enable some pretty neat use cases for the sensors (imagine the controller rumbling when a piece had been acquired.)

Ideally, I would like a setOutput (like in FRC) and the TI Launchpad being an allowed controller so students could make their own control stations.

I don't believe this is possible because AFAIK Android's HID driver does not support rumble.

SDK v7.0 now supports this, using a custom userspace USB driver instead of Android's native driver.

I saw this. My students are so excited. The implementation looks really nice with being able to set intensity, patterns, and left and right separately.
