    We are using the Samsung Galaxy S5 also, and found we needed to use the rear facing (higher resolution) camera and turn on the flash to get a reliable read of the vuMark.

      Thankyou very much. Sorry we are new to the whole vuforia thing. How do you turn on the flash?

        Can you just turn the flash on or should it be turned on in your code?

          We use:

          Code:
          com.vuforia.CameraDevice.getInstance().setFlashTorchMode(true);

            We tried using the code, but says : "Use of the Java Vuforia APIs requires initalization via the com.vuforia.Vuforia class".
            Do you have any idea why it says this?

              The Vuforia library must be set up in your code and everything done to be ready to recognize - this is not a standalone function. We put this immediately before invoking the method to trigger image recognition.
